¿Qué habría pasado si ciertos ritmos ancestrales nunca hubieran dejado de evolucionar? ¿Si el pulso de las fiestas populares hubiera atravesado el tiempo hasta encontrarse con sintetizadores, samplers y nuevas formas de escucha? De esa pregunta nace Baile Entero, el nuevo proyecto y álbum de Pablo Martín Jones.
Percusionista, productor e investigador sonoro, Jones propone un viaje donde tradición y contemporaneidad dejan de ser opuestos para convertirse en un mismo cuerpo en movimiento. Inspirado en el Baile Entero de Peñaparda, una de las expresiones rítmicas más singulares de la península ibérica, el álbum transforma materiales heredados en una experiencia vibrante, libre y profundamente actual.
Panderos, voces, percusiones tradicionales, objetos cotidianos y electrónica conviven en un paisaje sonoro exuberante, donde la memoria se mezcla con la experimentación y el baile aparece como una fuerza colectiva capaz de conectar pasado y futuro. Más que una recreación folclórica, Baile Entero imagina una tradición viva, mutante y abierta.

Seguidillas es el primer adelanto de Baile Entero (mismo nombre de disco y artista) y probablemente la pieza que mejor define el universo en el que se mueve el álbum.
Uno de los géneros más antiguos de la música tradicional ibérica, la seguidilla y su compás ternario comparte partes del ADN con otros géneros esenciales de la península como las sevillanas, el bolero o los fandangos. Es un pilar del folclore y también inspiración directa para Baile Entero.
En este tema se restriegan ritmos e instrumentos tradicionales con electrónica mutante. Una polirritmia construida con tambores, sintetizadores y distorsión, donde palmas y panderetas conviven con robots percutiendo una caja de ritmos hecha de almireces, botellas de anís y latas de pimentón. Y en el centro de todo un mantra vocoderizado: rebaná, rebaná, torrá, el juego de palabras con el que los niños interiorizaban la cadencia rítmica de las seguidillas.
Todo sin buscar resignificar nada, desde la legitimidad que da hacer las cosas porque te brota y lo necesitas.

A percussionist, producer and sound researcher, Jones offers a journey where tradition and modernity cease to be opposites and become a single body in motion. Inspired by the Baile Entero of Peñaparda, one of the most unique rhythmic expressions on the Iberian Peninsula, the album transforms inherited materials into a vibrant, free and deeply contemporary experience.
Tambourines, voices, traditional percussion, everyday objects and electronics coexist in an exuberant soundscape, where memory blends with experimentation and dance emerges as a collective force capable of connecting past and future. More than a folkloric recreation, Baile Entero imagines a living, evolving and open tradition.

Seguidillas is the first single from Baile Entero (the record shares its name with the artist) and is probably the track that best defines the world in which the album is set.
One of the oldest genres in traditional Spanish music, the seguidilla and its triple metre share elements with other key genres of the Iberian Peninsula, such as sevillanas, bolero and fandangos. It is a pillar of folklore and also a direct inspiration for Baile Entero.
In this track, traditional rhythms and instruments rub shoulders with mutating electronics. A polyrhythm built from drums, synthesizers and distortion, where clapping and tambourines coexist with robots beating a drum machine made from mortars, bottles of anisette and tins of paprika. And at the heart of it all, a vocoderised mantra: rebaná, rebaná, torrá – the play on words with which children internalised the rhythmic cadence of the seguidillas.
All without seeking to redefine anything, created with the legitimacy that comes from doing things because they spring from within.
