Yuri Méndez, un tipo soleado y veraniego, está enfrascado en la grabación de su próximo disco como Pajaro Sunrise, que saldrá a final de año. Sin embargo, la cercanía estival le ha impelido a registrar su propia lectura de este casi-clásico-popular-que-lo-es: La Ventanita.La Ventanita es una de esas canciones que parece que lleva ahí desde siempre, presta a sonar en cuanto que las fiestas populares llegan a las plazas y se juntan distintas generaciones a bailar los mismo sones.
La canción ya hace tiempo que sonaba en los directos de Pajaro Sunrise. En su versión bascula entre una delicada melancolía y la euforia verbenera. Producida por él mismo, arranca en un territorio acústico que luego abandona para adentrarse en la electrónica lo-fi.
Yuri demuestra una vez más que es un artista con una sensibilidad pop única, y que se mueve cómodamente en casi cualquier terreno, como atestiguan sus muchos trabajos para cine y publicidad. Hay muchas ganas de su nuevo álbum, pero este aperitivo nos va a servir para endulzar la espera.
Y es que ya lo dice la canción: “es tan bonito tener tu cariño”…

Yuri Méndez, a sunny and summery guy, is busy recording his next album as Pajaro Sunrise, due out at the end of the year. However, the summer proximity has impelled him to record his own reading of this almost-classic-latin-pop-song-that-truly-is: La Ventanita.
La Ventanita is one of those songs that seems to have been around forever, ready to be played as soon as the popular festivities reach the squares and different generations come together to dance to the same songs. This is a stalwart in any verbena in Spain and many places in Latin America. (Verbena is a popular party taking place on the streets and usually entertained by a live band)
After humming it a lot, Yuri decided to records his own version. A version that oscillates between delicate melancholy and summery party outdoor euphoria. Produced by himself, it starts in an acoustic territory that ends up leading into lo-fi electronic.
Yuri proves once again that he is an artist with a unique pop sensibility, and that he moves comfortably in almost any terrain, including verbenas. We are looking forward to his new album, but this tasty bit will serve to sweeten the wait. As the song says: “Es tan bonito tener tu cariño…” (It’s so nice to have your affection).
